ECU – The Brain of Your Car! 🧠
An ECU, Electronic Control Unit, acts as the brain for your vehicle reacting and adapting to the information it receives. From the wheels to the engine, modern-day vehicles have hundreds of sensors that communicate with the ECU(s) through the Central Area Network (CAN). CAN operates similarly to the human nervous system.
Any information falling outside of the ‘set parameters’ causes faults to be stored, potentially illuminating a warning light. At this point high-tech equipment and our experienced technicians are required to interrogate your vehicle to find the source of the fault.
